You’ve probably heard the debates: Is Facebook still worth it for businesses? The short answer: It depends—but for many brands, yes. While Facebook has had its share of controversies around privacy and algorithm changes, it remains a powerful platform, especially for specific audiences.

Recent Changes and Controversies
- Privacy concerns: Data privacy and transparency have been hot topics around Facebook for years, causing some brands to rethink how they use the platform.
- “Pay to Play” Environment: Organic reach has declined, meaning you often have to invest in ads to get visibility.
- Demographic Shifts: Younger audiences (Gen Z and Millenials) spend less time on Facebook, favoring TikTok and Instagram.

Who’s Still Actively Using Facebook?
- Adults aged 30–65+ remain very active on Facebook. Older millenials still use Facebook, even if they are not as active as older demographics.
- Local businesses, community groups, and service-based brands still perform well.
- It’s also strong for event marketing, local advertising, and building loyal followings.
How to Post Effectively on Facebook in 2025
- Prioritize quality over quantity: One good post beats three bad ones. Unless you post news and/or have more than 10,000 followers, a majority of businesses do not need to post more than once a day; I onced managed social media for a brand that wanted me to post FIVE TIMES A DAY for around 1,000 FB followers and it negatively affected our reach and engagement.
- Use Groups: Community-based marketing is thriving. Facebook groups can attract invidiuals that fit your ideal customer profiles while also fostering a sense of community.
- Invest smartly in ads: A small ad budget can go a long way when targeted well. I’ve worked with Facebook budgets as small as $50 and still generated qualified leads, even if it was for a short duration.
The bottom line: Facebook isn’t dead—it’s just evolved. If your audience is there, it’s still a smart platform to be strategic about. Need help figuring out your best Facebook marketing strategy? Let’s work together to create a strategy that will help your business grow.
